What is DPDT . DPDT is a Double Pole, Double Throw switch, it adds another pole to the SPDT switch. Single pole refers to the number of individual circuits you are switching and the throw is how many connections you are making on each of the poles, so the DPDT can control two separate circuits. It's similar to having two separate SPDT switches in one configuration operating at the same time. A DPDT switch is a 6 terminal switch, two terminals are used as an input and connected to a set of output contacts. What is Break-Before-Make .
