It is a special polarizing element with low transmission loss and high extinction ratio of 5×10^-5 or less.
Use for high-precision polarization experiments.
Calcite type for use in the visible to infrared region and α-BBO crystal type for use in the ultraviolet region are available.
The Grantomson prism is enclosed in a metal frame, and the element is not stressed when the frame is fixed to the holder.
The calcite type Granthomson prism allows you to select the allowable angle of incidence in two levels.
The surface of the Grantomson prism is coated with a single layer of antireflection film to provide high transmittance.
Gran laser prism GLPB/GLPC and Wollaston prism WPPB/WPPC for high power laser are also available.
Please check the allowable angle if necessary.
* When the incident angle changes, the extinction ratio of the linearly polarized light of the transmitted light also changes.
* All light that does not pass through the Grantomson prism is absorbed and scattered on the side of the device.
* Since calcite is a natural crystal, there are variations in the quality and individual differences.
* If a light beam is inserted into the polarizing prism at an incidence angle greater than the allowable angle, the light may not be extinguished.
* The center axis of the allowable angle depends on the direction and wavelength of the prism, and may have an angle to the optical axis of the polarizing prism.
